Patishapta is a type of "pithe". It is a light crêpe filled with either kheer (sweetened, reduced milk) or a coconut-and-gur mixture. This is a recipe of the version filled with kheer. Pithe is an umbrella term used to describe a variety of sweets prepared during poush sankranti or the rice-harvest festival in Bengal, using rice, date-palm syrup (patali gur), coconut, milk, and flour.
